    Ok ignore my ignorance.....

but my computer is on 24h a day, I never turn it off, so it would make sense for me to help the MR cause. I have tried setting it up before but it never 'did' anything. Help?

because the 700 spectrum has theoretical data speeds much higher then the "standard" spectrum.

my family has been happy with t-mobiles service where we live for over 6 years and there rates are very affordable.

The only reason i went to ATT is because of the iPhone and if the iphones does come to t-mobile i will be switching back.
The speed has nothing to do with the frequency used. Those Canadian carriers I mentioned have a theoretical speed of 21Mbps (HSPA+) and they use the same frequencies as AT&T.

iOS evolution from 1 to 4 is somewhat disappointing. It has become somewhat stale, especially for the iPad. Hopefully iOS 5 is a big leap forward.

    really?

you think it will be anything more than an incremental improvement?

I can't imagine a fancy Swiss watch is any different from a Citizen or a Seiko. I would recommend going to one of those watch kiosks in a shopping mall and picking out a new band. Most of these places will install it for free.

OP, please don't take your $2,500 Omega to a mall kiosk!!!

I have an Omega Seamaster and changing the steel bracelet can be tricky. Take your time and shop for a quality band online- I suggest taking a look at what the folks at the watchuseek.com forums have to offer. There are a lot of members who make and sell their own leather bands and they're usually very affordable and can be made to order. They even have a forum dedicated to straps and bracelets (http://forums.watchuseek.com/f222/). If nothing else, they can at least point you in the right direction and suggest a good manufacturer to buy from.

Once you order a band and receive it, take it to an authorized jeweler (preferably someplace that sells the Omega brand) and let the experts do it. They'll have all the right tools and won't scratch or scuff the steel, like the teenager at the mall might, and they'll usually do it for free or for a very nominal fee. I'm sure you can probably even learn to do it yourself by browsing some of the watchuseek forums.

Hope that helps, good luck! :)

If states went into deficits because people didn't have enough money to pay their taxes how will raising taxes solve this problem?

Saw the story about the price cut, while on break (ironically I work at Target, where we have been receiving a lot of the IPad 1 16/wifi's lately, and selling them as fast as we were getting them in at $399.99) and got out of work at 8:30 went straight to the Verizon store, and bought the last 16 they had.

They of course tried to up sell me cases, mifi, keyboards, applecare, and I said no, and the rep went to page two of the handbook, meanwhile she did not even know the price was cut, until I informed her, as she told me there is not much price difference between the 1 and the 2, I consider $200 a lot. :p

So a 17 year old can do it but a gigantic company with $50 billion lying there can't. Seems logical to me.

    Wake up Steve. Seriously.

i'm sure all these white cases are the ones that Apple didn't want

i would buy a kit, but not for that much. i know it includes the digitizer and LCD. still not worth it

Yes, the best at multiplying it's installed base number by just the fact that it requires so much redundancy. ;)

Let's not even get into licensing... CALs, Per computer, Per user, Per what now ?

still cheaper than a lot of the competition. before we went to sql 2005 we looked at Oracle. by the time you bought the add on packs it was almost $1 million for our installation. SQL was 1/4 that.

AD might be a bit expensive but the AD forests people created in Windows 2000 can be upgraded every version with minimal issues and it works out of the box. with other products you first have to spend months creating your schema, pray it doesn't break when used with other products and upgrading can be a big PITA. AD is the apple of corporate IT. you don't need a team of geeks toiling away for months to code a ldap schema, it just works out of the box

That design is just awful. Reminds me of a cheesy alienware case:

I knew it looks like one of those cases, just didn't remember which! :D

yes i agree there. osx server shall thusly be known as "Mac OSX Home Server".

    *cry*

Yep... Considering Apple did nothing to provide a Snow Leopard Server connector for Windows 7 and beyond, kinda makes Apple's server offering redundant in a mixed-platform environment these days... SLS in name had potential... but... whats under the hood isn't up to the quality of the Apple logo.

Great to see some EFFORT on polishing the server. Based on my experience using it over the last 18 months, they would have to give me the next version in order to even consider it... Guess they are :)

I just deployed Windows Home Server 2... And very happy with it at the moment... It seem MS is more than ready for competition on this front...

Jobs: I have to go to the bathroom. Is that alright?
    Schmidt: (Frisks Jobs Crotch)
Barista: I frisked him. He's Clean.
Jobs casually walks to the restroom.

Job walks back to table and casually sits down.
    (In Italian)
    Schmidt: Do you feel better?
    Jobs: Yes.
Schmidt: Stevey, you understand me don't you? You're italian, just like your father. You're Sick. When you feel better, we'll arrange a meeting and everything will be alright. This meanness must come to an end.
Jobs shifts his eyes around the room. Jumps up and shoots Schmidt three times.

I fully agree that this site is less than ideal in it's rating system. My points are:

    1. Here is, as far as I can tell, a not particularly Mac friendly site that compares the performance of Macs vs. PC's.

    2. Based on these ratings, an iMac is actually the best buy for middle of the pack machines.

    3. Again, based on these ratings, the top of the line Mac and P4 machines are closely matched in performance.

    4. These conclusions are probably more significant in that they are based on data from a site that is not pro-Mac.

Yup. So the EF-s lens is providing a field of view of 16-35.2mm in full-frame, 35mm equivalent. So is effected by the 1.6 crop. Which is what I've been saying all along.

Yep. so you are now using the term Equivalent, not actual, which is not what you have been arguing, but I have.... Actual focal length is 10-22 in EFS. Effective in 35mm terms is 16-32mm.

OK. So, with your logic, take that Equivalent in Full Frame EF 16-35.2mm lens and put it back on your 7D, and your FOV changes again, and your Image changes. It will be using the center of the lens's elements, in effect "cropping" your image tighter, which now gives you an effective focal length of 56.32 mm on the long end, not the 22mm as your argument would dictate.

As stated before, you are comparing Apples to Oranges. You have to have a standard frame of reference which is a 35mm sensor size.

Is this a joke or what? Are people that work in retail different to the rest of us? Am I missing something here?

Think different. Think about long-term discounts........and relationships (with Apple!)

It isn't that they miscalculated the rise of digital, as miscalculations happen in business, it is the silly decision they made that resulted in the company divesting itself of businesses that had a future. The point is you can miscalculate a bit when it comes to how rapid you core tech will become useless but your planning should recognize that is going to happen and that you need to grow in a different direction. Instead Kodak shrunk itself down around a dying business.
    .

Exactly, for those folks who think Kodak was just a film company you're totally off base. They had the diversity but not the vision to adjust to the transition and ended up wholesale auctioning their future. Kinda what we're doing as a country right now.

Or, drag to the Mail icon in your dock...

Another option: With the item selected, go to menu Finder > Services > New email with attachment.

IIRC, there is also a way to add contextual menu items through Automator. It's been a while since I've played with Automator, so I'll have to check into it and post back if I find anything useful.

You can put a SSD in (same instructions as for putting a HDD in). See iFixit's guide.

There are different brands of SSD to choose from e.g. Intel, OWC, OCZ etc.

You can't replace the CPU though.

If you have the 2Ghz CPU then you have the early 09 Mini, not the late 09.
