Yes, I'm going to make a moral judgement - if you've just bought a $1200+ computer surely you can afford the $60 to get the three iWork apps from the App Store. If it's tapped out your bank account, wait a few weeks and save up for it.

Why are they going to such pains to AltiVec-ize everything?
And why did they discontinue Logic for x86?
I can't understand why they wouldn't opt for that Power4 variant (if the recent rumor is to believed, which I don't think it is). It seems like the perfect chip for Apple.

Your MBP does not have the SATA III connection required to get the max performance out of the M4. Your MBP has only a SATA II connection, so even though the M4 would work it will not give you peak speeds shown in benchmark tests.
Look at the test at the top of this page (http://www.anandtech.com/show/4253/the-crucial-m4-micron-c400-ssd-review/8) that shows overall system performance. Note the M4 at a SATA II connection and the Intel 320 are about the same speed.
With the same performance and better price and reliability of the Intel, I hink Intel is your best choice.

Not to be pedantic, just ignorant:
I understand that the punctuation marks go inside the quotes (um, not parentheses... maybe you do need him ;)) when part of a quotational reply. However, when used to mark a single word or phrase, it seems as though contemporary "correct" usage allows for the quoted word/phrase to be used as an indivisible object, meaning punctuation would go outside.
But, hey, I'm a programmer geek. I'm happy just to be able to communicate at all.

I don't think they will let you have the iPhone 3G S until 8am because that's what it says on Apple website. For 5th avenue store it is different, but for stores in malls are they going to change the mall hours to accommodate lines forming or will people only be allowed in at 8am? My mall doesn't open until later than 8am on Friday, does this mean my Apple Store won't be participating in the 8am opening and will simply open when the mall does?

Is it true the Thunderbolt ports taking the place of the HDMI ports in the 2010 model that you no longer can view the computer screen contents such as photos etc. on a TV like we can with the iPad2?

Those screens are already available - and you can buy them if you want, but cost quite a bit, 10k+. And I just spent 5 minutes searching for the site and I can't find it - if someone knows it post it.

What simba posted. There's nothing wrong with your RAM or how OS X is managing it. If you're concerned about the 5 GB being "used", don't be because 2.01 GB is inactive so it's "free". Your Mac is only using 3 out of 6 GB or RAM.
