Its a very good point. Immigration related issues are highly political and rouse emotions on either side. Our opponents used those same emotions to get their desirable results - in the form failure to any immigration related bill. Now I think we have a good opportunity to use this fiasco to our benefit.
The lawsuit - whatever its outcome maybe can run its own course. AILF is taking care of that. We as 485 filers and potential filers can simultaneously work on educating lawmakers. To the immigrant friendly lawmakers we can magnify the arrogance of DOS/USCIS in disregarding thousands of immigrants aspirations and revising a bulleting literally at the last "second". We can also project the miscommunication/clashes between the two orgnizations (without that element its impossilbe they would come to the conclusion in mid-june that there will be plenty of visas unavailable to make every one current; and suddenly after two weeks realize that there are none to anyone).
We can even reach out to extreme right (like sof Tancredo) and expose how
USCIS approved cases in haste at last minute just to avoid the rush from July 2nd. Who knows how many cases they approved are not supposed to be approved in the normal circumstances.
Is IV taking advice from lobbists on this matter or they just deal with senate/house bills.

Is it possible to track 140 without the receipt notices.
Did you pay using your check? If so, I heard in this forum that they print receipt numbers on the back of the checks. I don't know if that helps.

Why can't your friend post this himself?
You are such a good friend that you care about his immigration needs. ;)
Is there any problem with my posting ? He sent me an email with the details, so I thought let me put it here, so I did. Thanks, next time I will tell my friends to become member of this forum, which sucks because of people like you.

Q17: How will USCIS interpret the language of AC21 Sec 104(c) (for three-year H-1B extensions) during a period in which AOS applications could be filed?
A17. USCIS interprets AC21 104(c) as only applicable when an alien, who is the beneficiary of an approved I-140 petition, is eligible to be granted lawful permanent resident status but for application of the per country limitations. Any petitioner seeking an H-1B extension on behalf of a beneficiary pursuant to AC21 104(c) must thus establish that at the time of filing for such extension, the alien is not eligible to be granted lawful permanent resident status on account of the per country immigrant visa limitations

I am sorry to hear you are still wading through the labor cert stuff. Mike Delph has little or no knowledge of how the immigration system works. My family and I found this out over six years ago when he worked for Dan Burton.
Wishing you all the best.

Hello folks,
We are left with 5 or 6 working days this month (and this year). Is anybody expecting last minute 485 approvals in this 5 or 6 days? Any unused visas in all categories should be used in coming few days. Lets see what USCIS going to do with these unused visas. Some people are getting soft LUDs on their 485s in last few days, including me.
Lets hope for the best
Thanks

Porting PD Imp Approach & Question
Background-
Working with employer A have approved labor and I-140 EB3 and have a copy of all documents. Also have an approved EB2 PERM with employer B.
My questions are
1) Can I transfer my H-1B to employer B to file new I-140 using EB3 Priority Date using recently announced premium service and I will tell employer A that I am on vacation ?
If I get new EB2 approval with old EB3 Priority Date then I will resign from employer A
If I will get rejected new EB2 with old Eb 3 Priority Date then I will go back to old employer A that I am back from vacations
Since this is premium service so turn around time is less than 4 weeks. Less than 4 weeks is not that uncommon to go on vacation.
Any comments or risk of this approach

Hi All,
Please let me know, based on your personal experience, Does Change of Address 'triggers' an RFE from USCIS????
I recently found a project (after many months) and am working for this new employer on EAD. However, I have not vacated my old apt....still paying rent and keeping it as my current one, and sharing accommodation with others in the new city where I am working....because of the only reason that I fear, which is an RFE.
Please let me know.
Thanks.
This topic has been discussed a lot in this forum. It helps to do a search before starting a new thread.
I recently changed my address via online AR-11 and no RFE so far. My change of address was within the same zip code though.
AR-11 is mandatory so please file it.

Guys, there is nothing to be excited about for EB folks in this bill.. This appears to help FB folks and in the name of re-union, which is a good thing ofcourse but, for us.. If I read between the lines, I have a bad feeling... Are they trying to re-capture the EB wasted visa numbers along with FB wasted and allocate all those to FB folks?
Let the EB folks live this same life?
God knows...

Dear folks:
Fist of all, a definition of PLEDGE:
PLEDGE: A solemn promise or agreement to do or refrain from doing something. Example, a pledge of aid; a pledge not to wage war.
Situation:
More or less, all of us are aware of the importance of IV.org and how much IV means to us as an organization AND as an entity that strives to help us get out of the gut of current immigration situation.
We also know that a day will arrive when we (and spouse/kids) will have Green card in our hands.
If not next month, perhaps in another 6 months for some people. Or perhaps a year or two away and to some people, unfortunately, even longer.
But we will get it one day.
IV is a very active organization who is working hard in our best interest and it does not matter how you get the Green Card, IV will have, direct or indirect, contribution to it.
Proposal:
There was a thread going around few months ago on "how will you celebrate the day you get greened?" Some prefer throwing a party, some prefer vacation, some would overload gallons of alcohol in their body or some would donate money to their respective temples or church.
These are all good things to do. (OK. May be not the alcohol part) :)
In addition to the above, I invite you to celebrate that day by flowing some donation to IV. Just as a token of saying THANK YOU. This will help IV to continue to fight for other folks out there.
I invite you make a sincere pledge TODAY on how much money you would like to donate to IV on the day you get greened.
Nobody is going to twist your arm if you decide not to donate, but I trust that most of the people takes pride in keeping their word once given.
Even if 50 people among us get their green cards each month and each one of them decides to donate $100, it will amount to $5,000 to IV and it will help them fight for a cause for rest of the people out there.
No pressure.
Just an idea.
I myself pledge for $250 donation today.
Others are welcome to participate.
