Even for my wife early last year we had issues in the PA DMV, As some others mentioned not all officers are aware of the rules. We did take the PA Fact sheet print out which clearly mentions that people with EAD should get a 1 yr license extension.

After showing the same, the officer consulted with his senior and did extend the licence. I am guessing even CT should have some official document as above which you should be able to use.
Dont worry i am sure you will get it extended soon.. As others mentioned just your bad luck.

One says, I can only remove my Future employer "X", who has filed for my GC, and carry my Priority Date , AFTER I get new PERM and new I140 from the new company.
Other one says, don't worry just move to new Employer and I don't need to refile PERM and I140.
Both lawyers are mentioned over 10 times on this web-site and both are VERY reputed.
I have NEVER worked for employer X, It was a future position and I may still join them.
I have approved 140 and 485 is pending for about 9 months.
EAD is approved and so is AP.
Please help guys!

In case one is using EAD and 485 rejected for some reason. you have 180 days to safe guard one self.
please check other threads for detailed responses.

I received my "Approval Notice Sent" email on Aug 13th and actually received the notice on 16th. However, never received any "Card Production Ordered" email. From your post, it looks like you received the card production email before the "Approval Notice Sent" email. I am just wondering why I didn't receive any card production ordered email.
I would imagine that once the 485 is approved, card production is automatically ordered. Any input guys?

Its mystery. My friend visited one Canadian consulate for VISA interview. He sent his I-171 and DS160 to them in email to get PIMS done before his interview date and they said that they received the documents and noted info & can come for interview. He though PIMS check is done and he can go peacefully for interview.
But today they gave some document saying they need to verify PIMS, so the conclusion is always better to go home country sothat we can have nice time with relatives atleast.

so a person whose EAD expires but is waiting renewed EAD card has to resign and then be rehired??? Isn't there some clarity regarding this?
exactly what i was wondering...coz HR will ask for some legal documentation to back up the story of being able to go on unpaid leave, but having to be off payroll and then the I9...what happens to insurance then?

Yes. It is possible to do H1 Transfer and use AC21 without disrupting the GC process.

USCIS is sick of active IVian and they want them to suffer. These active IVian have PD earlier than 2006. I am one of them.
How come most of the 2006 PD holders getting approved? I do not have any grudge against who have 2006 PD and got their AOS approved. I am just wondering as to what is making USCIS to choose only 2006 PD ? Definitely, the low hanging fruits theory does not seem to be working here. Anybody has any idea about that ? I am just frustrated.

SPECTER: Well, we are really just getting started. We have scheduled four markups. The leader would like to bring the bill to the floor by March 27th. We're going to try to do that but we're not going to rush it. We're going to take the time we need to go through the issues thoroughly and come to a balanced judgment.
DOBBS: Senator Hillary Clinton today spoke out on U.S. immigration policy. She said Congressman Sensenbrenner's immigration bill, which passed the House as you know, and is now in the House Judiciary Committee, would be, quote, an unworkable scheme to try to deport 11 million people, which you have to have a police state to try to do. How do you react to her comments?
SPECTER: Well, I think we need border security. And the House passed bill goes a long way in that direction and I think that's an important aspect that has to be balanced.
I think when you have 11 million or more undocumented aliens, you have to find a way to bring them out of shadows. At the same time, you do not want to reward people who have broken the laws. So we do not want amnesty program. And my job as chairman is to hear all points of view, to analyze them thoroughly, to discuss them and to see if we can't find a way to bring people out of the shadows, not necessarily put them in line for citizenship, but to try to eliminate having them in a fugitive status.
And if they want to become citizens, to go through the processes which comport with the law.
DOBBS: Senator, when you say in the shadows, this is the language of lot of, frankly, a lot of pro-illegal immigration and open border's advocates, as I think you know.
They're seldom if the shadows as we look at Home Depots, where we see day laborer, aggregating. They make up about 20 percent, by most estimates, of the labor working in construction. They make up just about half, if not more, of all farm labor as you know in this country. We do not know precisely how many people here. Estimates as I reported earlier ranges high as 20 million. How is it that the United States government does not know nor do we have a way, as far as I know in the United States government, the federal government, to come up with a count of how many people we're talking about? And isn't that important as we apply your efforts at coming to compromise and conciliation? SPECTER: Well, it would be very, very helpful, Lou, if we knew precisely how many undocumented aliens, illegal aliens, were in the country if we knew where they were. When you talk about the shadows, if you have a program which says we're going to ferret them out, we're going to arrest them, we're going to deport them all.
Maybe the shadow's is a bad expression. Maybe a better expression would be that would turn them into fugitives. What we want to do is to try to find some way to get our hand on the problem.
We know that they take a lot of jobs where others don't want to take them. At the same time, we are aware of the fact that they depress salaries downward if they weren't available. They would be more compensation. We're juggling a lot of balls at the same time and nobody has tackled this problem for a long time and it's been thrust upon the Judiciary Committee and we're going to try to deal with it.
DOBBS: Well, Senator, we all wish you luck on that and the idea that the president likes to use the expression, willing workers and willing employers. In this case they're illegal employers and they're illegal aliens that are being exploited and it's not certainly the kind of thing I would -- certainly knowing your background, know that you would like to see continue. DOBBS: Why don't you punish, punish, punish, illegal employers because they're exploiting people a way that is so un-American and is, frankly, doesn't reflect well on us and for people to defend it is, to me, unspeakable.

You really do not have to say good bye to GC. If your labor has been cleared, you can apply I-140 Premium processing with your present company. Apply perm and I-140 with this new mid sized company. Transfer PD to new I-140 with new company. Go to India to start your company have them outsource to you. GC is for future anyways, work on your new enterprise in India for 1-2-3 years untill your pd becomes current (whenever that happens). At that point you have an option to file I-485. You can still continue in India, with an option to returning or decide at that point if you want to stay in the USA for 2-3 months every-year to maintain GC for 5 years to become US Citizen.

Also you could shoot up the small band market. Thats how I got started. I was managing bands then they asked me to build their websites. Go to a local club or venue on local band night and hand out your card.
The nice thing about bands is that are willing to push the limites on what one can do with flash and webdesign in general.

I just bought a new D70 and was interested in getting some advise from current owners about additional lenses and accessories.
Was looking at buying a SB-800 flash. Is this the best option?
The SB-800 is excellent, but a bit expensive. Worthwhile if you can afford it.
How about additional lenses? I have an 18-70mm AF that came with the camera.
I am looking for other nikkor lenses that are very handy to have, meaning won't sit in the bag most of the time.
Any other advice or help would be much appreciated.

I doubt that. Returning after a long period on AP would sure make the POE officer grill that person, as AP is supposed to be used in case of emergencies and humanitarin grounds. I was grilled at IAD on return after 30 days and the POE officer asked me to present documentary evidence of the emergency to travel outside US.
The officer you met did not know the difference between AP applied on humanitarian grounds and AP applied based on pending I-485.
My wife entered NEWARK after 6 months in India ( using I-485 based AP) and no questions were asked although the waiting time inside the secondary inspection room was really long.

Even I have got same message yester day. But now it shows the package was delivered when i checked today morning.
I have one more question here. The I-765 and I-131 are two different post box numbers. we can send both applications to the same P.O.BOX or different. If we send two different P.O.BOX then both will reach to same P.O. BOX or different P.O.BOXs.
