I thought it was revolutionary - the idea that you always start with a template and never with a blank document. I thought - wow, all these years and Microsoft didn't come up with this?Actually, for the past several years Office has offered the option upon opening to load a document or pick on of several templates. Office even organizes them by type: Professional memo, sales order, etc. So, nothing new there. Move along.
Can't stand Pages. I'm a writer and it (Pages) is totally unsuitable. Clearly a wannabe DTP program, ala Publisher. I'm sure Pages is great for doing a church newsletter. For any moderately-serious writing, Pages is unacceptable.
I'm very impressed with Office for the Mac. W/ student pricing, that bundle is a steal. Mature and powerful apps. (And, strangely, the Mac version is better than the Windows version.)

Alright, here we go Apple: I *will* buy a 13" MacBook Air on the day of the next refresh if it can have:
- Core i5 processors
- SD card slot (oops)
- backlit keyboard
- integrated 3G/LTE
- 10-hour battery life to match the iPad
A tall order, of course, but one can hope.
Hey Apple: I'll still buy one even if you don't quite manage to fit in the last two (but please try to increase battery life anyway).

I believe the crucial difference is that you believe when government taxes and spends the money on a service, it's better than not taxing at all.

How do we distinguish corporate stores from privately owned ones?
Go to verizon's website, they will list corporate stores. They also list authorized retailers, ie "Joe's Phones".

Got my copy of Leopard and t-shirt! Start queuing about half four, maybe a little after.
I didn't expect that amount of people� I mean, I figured there'd be a lot of people, but :D. Also, congrats to the Apple store security people for blocking off the fools who started their own alternate queue from the opposite side of the store entrance. The organisation was crappy though. I don't know how many t-shirts there really were, but if anyone from Apple is reading this, next time someone should probably walk down the queue while it's not frantic and hand out numbered tickets for people to show as they go in.
I can't wait to get home and install it though! The front is so shiny� :O

I drive 5000+ miles worth of road trips each year. AT&T 3G is available for maybe 5-10% of that, and EDGE is mostly useless otherwise. I use Navigon and it works great. A GPS program that relies on live downloads would be a comlete disaster for me.

Crap... that is a freaking steel and well there just went the resell value of everyone's first gen iPad, including me. Oh well.
Only until the remaining stock of Gen 1's sell out, then things should get better. I have a 64GB 3G Gen 1 and a 64GB 3G Gen 2 and I still think the original model is perfectly fine.

If they were the same price this would be a serious problem. I still have a problem at the outrageous prices of CDs and DVDs because they are more expnsive than cassettes were, but cheaper to produce. It is all about greed and $$.
Apple wants to make money too. but they eliminated some considerable costs.

Agree 100% - as I said in my original post, I don't think Apple are in any way culpable here: It's not their job to set prices for apps or in-app purchases. I also think Parents need to accept responsibility and watch their kids more carefully.
My only issue with this is the exploitative behavior of the publishers of the Apps - I can't think of any reason for charging the huge prices they do apart from someone thinking "Some parents are dumb and won't know how to stop their kids spending huge wads of cash on in-app purchases. We can make loads of money by using this to our advantage".
That shouldn't be what in-app purchases are used for: even if it doesn't break any rules, it's not at all ethical.

My mom is buying a new iMac 17" soon, and I was wondering how I would get the files from her Windows 98 machine to the iMac via Ethernet, because she doesn't have a burner. Would it be the same as networking to Macs, or would it require special software?

Does the mac mini support sd card peripherals (modems etc.)? I believe the capability is included in the sdxc spec.

This gave me the idea of a combined AppleCare plan. Since Apple is pitching their mobile computing products in three major categories: iPhone, iPad, and MacBook - it would be really cool to offer a combined AC plan for two or all three categories.
Like I have a iPhone and a MacBook - wouldn't it be neat to be able to buy a hybrid plan that would be about $20 to $30 cheaper than buying them individually?

And this will help apple how? People aren't gana buy iOS devices for airplay but will for the atv.
