I suppose it could also be at the Stanford Shopping Center.
I find it sad that Steve Jobs can't even sit outside in the sun enjoying a cup of coffee and having an intelligent conversation with another very smart man without some idiot intruding on him like paparazzi feeling they must snap pictures. We should all be happy that despite his illness he is doing such outstanding work, and leave him alone.

When I check for updates in outlook it tells me 'no updates available' ... oh well, downloading it now directly from the webpage linked in the article.
don't care
page and keynote still rock
Why do you than bother reading the article and spend the extra time commenting on it
A little off topic, but question for those who need Office software, and also run Parallels/Fusion: Do you prefer Office For Mac, or do you prefer to run "regular" Office in Parallels/Fusion? Thanks.
I prefer running it on the Mac - main reason: I don't run Parallels all the time - only when I have to develop windows stuff, otherwise it's always turned off (less used memory)

I don't think the situation will arise where we are comparing the speed of the G4 Vs the P5 actually...... ;)

There's a huge difference between SUPPORTING the a-5 (or retina display) and REQUIRING.
Look, I'm not against the A-5. Whatever. Knock yourselves out with it. I'm just saying that when push comes to shove, you're going to wish you had LTE compatability more than an A-5 processor.
All the processing speed in the world can't save you if your phone can't access content fast enough -- and with the move to cloud-based storage on the horizon, anyone carrying a 3G phone is going to have a miserable experience.
Any issues I've ever had with streaming have been related to my signal or being in a dense area for tower usage. Adding 4G/LTE capability solves neither of these problems. 3G is sufficient for streaming music files and videos. If you're wanting to stream >= 720p content over the air, you're a bit crazy anyway given that you're going to have data caps staring you in the face on any LTE plan.

I've been trying to get one as well, who'd you send your e-mails to?
I did nothing. Called no one. Complained no where. Dumb luck that I got the notice in the mail.
If the Microcell drew enough power for me to be concerned about it I'd bitch about the power consumption. But with a power bill that's about $30/mo. I don't care.

Does anybody know how to get the contacts to sync?
Yep, open up the Facebook app and tap "Friends". Then in the top right corner tap on "Sync", this will give you some options. Once selected, your contacts should sync.
Hope that helps.

I've driven through Valle Crucis (http://www.vallecrucis.com/) a couple times, but never stayed. It's a gorgeous, isolated N.C. mountain town. May be farther than you're willing to drive, though--I'd guess about 8 hours from Maryland.
Tha looks tempting, WM.
I'm also thinking of packing up my dusty collection of new, but long-unused fly rods and heading to Pennsylvania for some trout.

From what I saw, I wouldn't assume that it's included, but perhaps just a quick mention of the Server version having some new changes. Perhaps someone in the dev program will be able to shed more light, though.

This lot on these boards are amazing. Incredible what this place has devolved into.
If you people were all here 14 years ago, I guess you would have TORN INTO Apple for hiring Tim Cook from the "beige" PC maker?

Here we go kids!! Expect lot's of grandstanding and some real knee jerk legislation cause this IS the year to gear up for the big election. I wish someone would inform people that it's their responsibility to be informed consumers AND parents. My kid racked up $380 in cell downloads in one month. I didn't need my senator to step in. I took away her phone for a month, blocked her ability to purchase ANYTHING on it, and worked out the bill with my provider (AT&T) who practically wiped it all away. This is just going to burden us with more laws and subsequently, more taxes in the form of direct taxation of products, indirect taxes by way of price hikes due to a rise in business tax, or BOTH.

Never said I was Gandhi. My point is valid nonetheless.
Though, it is with the assumption that if those people DIDN'T buy white kits, they would have given the money to the developing nations. ;)
I understand what you're saying, the realist in me has just come to accept that this is the way the world has been, is, and will continue to be. 99% of people in developed nations will tell you how terrible is it that people live without clean drinking water, vaccination, etc, but if you asked them to give up one luxury in their life to contribute to fixing those injustices, they would not.
It's the classic thing of how people complain about child labor, foreign works who are forced to work 16 hour shifts 7 days a week but still want their cheap and shoes at super low prices. That however is a completely separate debate.
As for the kid in the news, I think it's amazing that he has set up this business for himself, most 17 year old kids today are too busy drinking, getting high and trying to bang everything possible. Even if he loses every penny he has profited through court costs, the amount of knowledge he has learned, and connections he will have will give him a great advantage in life (though he clearly already has one). If anything, the news coverage might get him some help or a job in the future, people love young kids like this who are able to do what he has done, legal or not.

I'd try to argue back but I've seen your photo in the pictures threads and I just don't have the balls. :(I'm laughing at this, but I don't know why... can you explain? (Seriously, if there was a joke in there, it went straight over my head...)

Strangely enough, I'm doing a lot better than I was when I attended college. Having my daughter totally shook my life up.
She is your motivation, and I completely respect and congratulate you on that.

Has the Woz ever been wrong!
But he is absolutely right. It is perfectly useable without a base computer to sync with, too. Think of it this way, if one doesn't have a computer already, they won't have anything to sync. Then it's just on to the iTunes Store.
This is the right device for, say, my sister, who just wants to be able to browse the web, play some games, and watch some videos. And my guess is that's the target audience as well as the "normal" user.

Yes this still bothers me. It makes great demo, to borrow a phrase from Fearless Leader, but it's scratched in some way in the first 5 minutes and after a month, Ugh... after a year: Scratchapalooza.
Im completed annoyed! Are they nuts! How can Jon Ive present this design to Steve Jobs with a straight face when its clearly a flawed back? Do they not put this thing through real world testing?! Good lord, it makes me mad!

hehe With 11 billion cash in the bank (half of Adobe's market cap), it would be really sweet if Apple acquired Adobe!
Drop all Adobe apps for Windows. Force people to either convert to Mac or find an alternative.
Ah it's just an awful, evil dream.
Please come true :)
...and then M$ would dump Office for the Mac and by-by mac sales (well, new buyers in any case.)
