:) was it not also usable as a computer , if i remember that right it had a logic board of macintosh's from that time with some alterations , but could be used for internet access and OS 8 would run on it , only not meant to be a macintosh , so i guess apple placed it in the wrong market ,instead of selling it as a games console they should have sold it as a macintosh able to be used as a games console could have been a hit :D

now does this work for downgrading any ipod or iphone?
Yes it does! You just need to download the ipsw corresponding to the model of your device. Other than that the processes is exactly the same.

Hey All
I was thinking about getting a few of these to get some songs. I went to iTunes to see how to go about using the cards. They say on the Apple WebSite just look for pre-paid card button, but I can seem to find it. Tried the login, but that asks of for lots of info... I just want to buy some songs and DON'T WANT TO GIVE MY CREDIT CARD INFO... Thats why the cards.
So where is this button... Do I have to have a Login???
Thanks!!!
Brad

Basically, I want to get an ibook, either refurb or used--just something cheap that will do internet (wireless), word processing, and that's about it. I have a biggger mac for storing music burning dvd's etc.
There's a nice ibook on the refurb page right now. My question: if I let this one pass will something else come up on that page pretty soon or is it a rare thing to find this kind of deal.
My reason for not buying now is because I did not plan to get something this soon, and money would be a tad bit tight to spring and get it right now. Should I spring for it now (aka credit card) or is it safe to wait for this deal to surface again?
Thanks for the reply BTW :)

Other World Computing - awesome supplier.
Yes I forgot that one. Although they have upgrades they don't have logic boards and apple made parts
I created a guide page

Thanks for responding so quickly. No, no chance of a different document. It is a very unique magazine. I have been working on this mag since last Monday - and have opened and closed it countless times. This is really STRANGE.
I'm not using backup software. I just use the 2nd hard drive to "double back up" in case. I do this at least once a day - or if I have done major changes to a job
With the permissions thing - I did a "file info" in another totally different job folder and went to details and changed the "group" access to "read and write" (cause it wasn't letting me save things in that folder even though me being the owner it said "read and write).
I am not on a network or anything - just a stand-alone osx 10.3.3
Have done a check and it doesn't seem to have affected anything else

TouchDown, do those utilities such as Data Rescue 3 and Disk Warrior actually work? thanks for the help :)
Data Rescue worked for me several times, it even took one week to scan an HDD and I could recover most of it.

Apple is secretly testing their new 'istrain' sensors in the new iMacs, depending on feedback they intend to incorporate these 'istrain' sensors across their whole product line.
Sounds like a positive result so far...
