I've had a few weird issues lately:
Logging into account--begins to log in, see desktop, menu bar and dock load, but then screen goes blue and logs me back out to login screen automatically. Have to login again. Also had a kernel panic when waking from sleep to login window. I had Winswitch and JewelCase installed (iTunes was in starup items), I removed them and that hasn't happened since.
On a recent login updating prebinding took 15 minutes
Some app quits (not many), but Quicktime and Preview take long time to open now out of nowhere...
While using Illustrator yesterday I noticed that my minimized windows and my Illustrator dock icon were to the right of the trash, I couldn't move them to the left. I tried relaunching the Finder several times, but no go...had to restart.
In Photoshop, if I click from a photoshop window to a finder window quickly the finder window disappears...
Now I have repared permissions, disk, run cron scripts, reset NVRAM and PRAM, run fsck, and run techtool pro and apple hardware test
None of these problems existed before I added a gig of RAM from Crucial, so do these sound like RAM issues, if so, then why do the hardware tests and techtool pro say RAM is ok? And if it is the RAM, then why are the problems not frequent?
Thanks.

I have one that i bought since the release day, I am actually glad that It's very scratched on the back because i don't care anymore, there are some sort of cases that you kinda glue on the back of it, but they'res no better experience than the thing as it is, I now use my 1G one for Web Radio with my speakers at home since the poor thing is pretty old and I'm using a 3GS for apps and stuff

Hi Guys,
My wifes 3GS is having an issue with signal. It keps losing signal for no reason. Im on the same network and have no issues.
I search for available carriers and none are found. Then all of a sudden the signal will return and be normal.
A 'Genius' looked at it and said the phone needs replacing. Didn't try and diagnose the issue. Phones out of warranty so it's 140 for the pleasure. Don't really want to do that as we're not far off the upgrade date of the contract.
Any ideas? I would have thought if it was hardware it would be out all the time?
Cheers,

Thanks guys but i have some additional questions , Is it possible that i can't get either the replacement or repair ?? And how much days will it last the reparation , approximately , if they have the parts , or if they don't have them , or a replacement (how long will it last, procedures stuff like that?? )
I can't speak from experience, but it should not last over a week, it depends whether Apple repair warehouse has that specific part that needs replacing, if they have, you should receive it within 3 working days. To get a better estimate, talk to Apple about this.

You mite want to start learning HTML, CSS, and jQuery. You will only become more and more limited by iWeb, that is not designed for professional sites regardless.
Once you have a mastering of basic HTML and CSS then moving onto jQuery will give you all the power you need for interactive slideshows and many other things. jQuery coding is quite trivial and easy to learn though can be difficult to master as most things are.
Wordpress wile good at what it does will pull up the same road blocks as iWeb if you do not know how to get into the nitty gritty to do the things you want.

Assuming the above code is in a .mm file (not a .m file) that should be fine. I don't know about connecting an action directly to C++ method, I don't think that would work. But you should be able to connect it to an objective-c method, and inside that use C++ code, including being able to create C++ object and call C++ methods.
You know Objective-C is an extension to standard C, right? Objective-C++ is the same extension applied to C++.

Hi!
I recently sold my MacMini. It was registered to my name and I could see it on my registered product list.
Now however it is not showing up there anymore and says it is registered under other ID if I enter the serial number.
It is ok with me of course, just wanted to know how the buyer could re-register it without letting me know it :)
I gave him the proof of purchase and wiped the HDD before selling it.
So when he reinstalled OSX and started it for the first time there probably showed up that registration screen...did it allows to re-register users in Apple's database just so simply under another name?
Just asking this because I am willing to understand how that works.
Thank you!

Sorry for the noob question...but I can't find out how to connect my iMacs cd drive to my MacBook air so that I can install a program... Thanx for the help!!!
The installation discs that come with Macs are model-specific and are not for use on other models.

My only prior Apple experience was in grade school with the ][e (those were the days :p ), gotta love that green text and The Oregon Trail was one of the best computer games ever. I used DOS at home(ok, I didnt "use" it I just cd to a game directory) and then Windows when it became decent(95). I switched to Linux on my x86 box and only used Windows for certain games. Never much liked Windows, nothing exciting. I love Linux though and the whole unix philosophy.
I needed a laptop recently and decided to go with a Powerbook 1ghz for the form factor, design, and to give OSX a whirl, I always admired OSX since it was first shown to the public and the fact that its unix-like was the nail in the x86 coffin for laptop choice.
Needless to say my experience has been positive, from unpacking the box to firing up the OS. It gives me the best of Linux(unix stuff) and the best of Windows(games, office, photochop, audio applications).
Ive used everything under the sun and I must say that OSX is the best looking desktop environment by far and the graphics acceleration is icing on the cake.
The only negative has been lack of configurability, Linux absolutely rules here. Still though I guess that can be a plus too as it keeps things simple and clean.
On a scale of 1-10 I give my Mac a 9.9 :)

I'm considering waiting in line. I didn't preorder since I wanted a White iPhone and now I'm wondering what the possibility of them having it in store is.
I think it's possible they will have some white ones at the Apple Store. The wording on Apple's order page and their lack of official statement suggests to me that they have some white iPhones they want to sell, but there are so few that they don't want to get anyone's hopes up. I might try calling the store later today and asking.

So I think the next step for you is to sync the iPods and make sure the apps are transferred by clicking on the device and then going to the "apps" tab.
You'll have to keep both iPods on the same account, but I don't think that should be a problem if they're being synced to the same iMac.

the problem is I can send a message to myself, and the settings I have put in are exactly like the ones on my PC which work.
Hang on.. Ive fixed it now, I hadn't checked the username and password of my outgoing mail, I had just set it up when I started where that option wasnt available, and I just found it now.
thanks for you help
