If you needed to buy parts, this place isn't too bad. Although free is nice if you got spare things lying around.

Just to let everyone know that alterPod has been released.
It let's you change the gtraphics that are displayed on your iPod.
Similar to the windows program named IpodWizard, but not related, this is for all the MAC heads out there

I don't believe Lockscreen Clock Hide will hide the status bar lock, but CleanStatus will (among a host of other things it will hide).
You sure?
I kinda remember the lock icon not being there back in ios3

An RGB Scart cable will give you the best picture possible from the console itself. How well the TV handles the signal and the actual picture quality is another matter entirely.
If you have an original MD and you want stereo, you'll need a Scart cable that has a seperate heahphone jack coming from it that plugs into the front of the console. The MD2 outputs stereo from it's AV port so it's much neater. It's quite simple to build your own (http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/genesisav.htm).

Well, I switched because of my Major. This Fall I'm going into Visual Communication. And ever since I got my Sony D8 camcorder I have wanted a Mac (I'm a videographer as a hobbist). However, I purchased my PowerBook G4 1Ghz because of the 6 months without payment offered by Apple when I bought it. In 6 months I'll already have an on-campus job and will be able to make the payments. Ever since getting my Mac I've had a few crashes (mostly with my own error or with the thing overheating). But all-in-all I'm glad I switched. Going bad to a PC is just so unbearable. I finally had to give my desktop PC to my Mom. Granted I can't play GTAIII or Mafia, but at this point in my life games are getting pretty dull (never been good at games anyway). Anyway my Adobe Digital Video Collection is supposed to arrive today so that is a good feeling. I also liked the fact that re-installation only takes about 3 hours opposed to all day with a PC. I moved OSX and 9 to different partitions, which explains my need to reinstall. The only thing I gripe about is how unorginaized the preferences folder is. I wish they'd delete if the main app was deleted. Other than that I'm pretty satisfied.

I'll have about 20 of the promo shirts from FastMac (http://fastmac.com/leopard.php#1) to give out. I'm supposed to be receiving the box today. I'll be there about 5:30.
Thanks for the T-shirt!
I was there, 6th in line. I saw a guy wearing a MR T-shirt about 10 places behind me in line, but didn't get a chance to say hi because we were too far away from each other and he was talking with three friends while in line, and after they opened the store things were kind of hectic. (Hi MR guy! Where did you get that T-shirt?)
The people who were waiting in line around me for 2.5 hours were super, super nice.

Hi,
I read that it was 1.5GB RAM but then I read on the apple support discussions that you could use 2GB?
Cheers.

Using an AEBS is way overkill for what you are asking to do. Just get a decent gigabit ethernet switch.
Yep. I have This (http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-Unmanaged-Auto-Negotiation-Auto-MDIX-TEG-S80G/dp/B001QUA6RA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304471134&sr=8-1) one to serve up the network connections for all my home theatre devices behind the TV. Quite fast, no setup, and saves power by scaling output according to cable length.

Hi,
I recently installed a 5870 in my early 2009 Mac Pro (card purchased from other world computing) running snow leopard and did not have to flash the video card to get it to work.
Hope this helps.:apple:

Nice work! It's a very clever idea, and nicely put together. I think that perhaps the only little thing is that the notebooks are a bit too dark to match the presumed lighting of everything else in the foreground -- so they look funny behind the brightly lit HiFi. But overall it's a great concept and a very nice execution. :)

i hate sync with a passion. who the hell wants to navigate your music library using the indash radio? it's an arduous task even when using the Ford Edge / Lincoln MKX LCD touch screen. why the hell does Apple program the iPad to lock up when connected to sync?

That's got to be annoying. It'll segment the case market even further.
More money for the case manufactures I suppose...

If you have PS CS5 then I assume you have Adobe Bridge too - in which case you can do this with Tools>Batch Rename and select the options you want. May be quicker than via Photoshop.

"I want to set up all this stuff on it"
Let me guess, pirating?
You don't need SSH to set up things.
How would you pirate with SSH? I use it for installing Winterboard themes. And by SSH I mean iPhoneBrowser. SSH needs wifi and drains battery life, while iPhoneBrowser just requires a USB cord. Plus SSH makes your iPod vulnerable to hacking (unless you change the default password from alpine, which many people don't do).
Just go here: http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/downloads/detail?name=SetupiPhoneBrowser.1.93.exe&can=2&q= and download it. If you have Windows 7, you have to run it in compatibility mode for Vista.
PS: 4.0 on iPod touch 2G is terribly slow. You should update to 4.2 and jailbreak with redsn0w (untethered for MB models), and it will be a bit faster.

Earlier today I saw a post inquiring about a deleted thread. I had the same question. Now that has been deleted as well. Was there an answer?

From what I understand about CDMA phones, the carrier has to allow the phone on their network. As the others have said, it's highly doubtful that Sprint would do that. It can't hurt to ask, but expect to be disappointed.

I read somewhere that Apple frowns on apps that require interaction with a website. Someone gave me an idea for an App that would require indirect interaction with a website. The website would be either contracted or developed by me.
The app would pretty close to useless without setting up an account on the website and logging in from time to time to (messaging, submissions, getting info from others, etc...)
How does Apple feel about apps that require (or nearly require) setting up an account on a website?
Also, anyone ever use Amazon as a website host? I heard they have some of the best deals going.
Thanks, KarlJay.

Hi,
So I have an Seagate 300GB external HD, formatted to Fat32(DOS) and a folder labeled Video. It works just fine when I plug into PS3, it is recognized and will play my files.
I also have another Western Digital 500GB external HD, formatted same way, same folder inside. But my ps3 will not recognize this one? Any ideas?
Thanks!!!

Well, I checked this thread earlier at work and saw some of the removed replies. I had a feeling there would be some unhappy people considering these phones are slowly approaching commodity pricing.
Anyways, to back up Blue Velvet, this is NOT a feeler thread. I'm looking to buy when I find the right one at the right price. If somebody's not happy with the price that I think they're worth, sorry. However, this is what I'm willing to pay for a used one. Hopefully somebody here is looking to sell a used one and I hear from them.
Thanks,
Ben

This is exactly what i did. Just buy VPC with dos, then i got win95 (speedy) and windows 2000 for actual compatibilty and productivness. But yes, win2k will install fine on the dos version of VPC. and i'm pretty sure you can install linux distro's for pc on VPC.

well what you should do is Set it up first just with 1000 base/t I think that should be plenty. In almost all cases you don't even use a full 1000 base/t line, as the hard drives are your limitation. So set it up with 1000 base/t then you can take a look at activity monitor and see if your getting close to maxing out a connection. You don't understand. The dual ethernet setup across an aggregated local network doubles the speed of the rendering or compressing multiple parts of a video render or compression job.
