That sounds about normal. Nothing to worry about. The warranty is based on the serial number of the phone and not the owner. :)
ok thanks!
I'm also showing not-so-hot battery life, so if I don't see that improve, I may bring it in to see what they can do. Not going to just worry about the lock key rattle, though.
Thanks!

That's not much less that we pay for a factory unlocked phone up here from the Apple stores. I'm guessing OP is not in Canada, though.
Yeah but those iPhones are locked to AT&T

will it play doom?
You have to wait for Linux to be available for it.

Use Handbrake. Its free and it has iPad specific profiles. You also get good control of the file size, with the understanding that smaller file size typically means lesser picture quality.

Apple recently upgraded their Java VM to 1.4.2 in OS X. But there is one "catch"- it can only be accessed through WebKit. This means only Safari can use the new Java! Other browsers (like Firefox) are stuck with 1.3.1, a very old version.
Does Apple have plans to fix this? This seems like a major drawback in OS X.Safari is most certainly not the only WebKit-based browser. If you are going to whine, at least get your facts straight.

If you are leaving it connected to the Time Capsule, then you should not have to install any HFS+ drivers. You should be able to turn on Windows sharing and see it over the network as an SMB/CIFS share.
If you can already see the internal drive in your network you have Windows sharing turned on, otherwise use Airport Utility to turn it on first.

good point.
i last booted up my windoze machine many moons ago. i wasn't sure if the fact that i always could see the TC's drive (or the USB drive hanging off my extreme) was due to having MacDrive installed or not.

I just received a couple to review. I will be posting the review in a day or two after I do some more testing on it. So far I am pretty surprised by the quality. I'm usually not a fan of gel / silicone cases, but I am really digging the Ringke.
Here's some quick snapshots.

Thanks for reply . It is obviously visible that the complaint is about 10.4 sdk
I was bit surprized by the error message having reference to 10.4 sdk but all the frameworks belong to to absolute path "/System/Library/Frameworks/***.framework"
(by clicking get Info button on individual frameworks)

Here is a picture:
Those are actually much, much older than the iMac G3. These are early '90s-era. I remember we had a bunch of them with the Mac LC models (original, II, and III) when I was in school. Most of the school ones were worn out or torn up, but I don't think they're that rare (yet? anyone want to clarify?)

Does it have to be 1333mhz? what if it's 1600mhz DDR3 memory like this one .. also does it mean higher the mhz the faster the ram?
http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/hyperx_us/partsinfo.asp?root=&ktcpartno=KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G
Yes the number is the speed but it will fall back to 1333mhz, if you are buying Kingston ram, I would buy this KTA-MB1333/4G two of these will give 8gb with the 4 already installed you'll have 12gb. the hyper X will do nothing for you but cost more.

Perhaps, if the project supported more than Windows machines, it would be possible to help.
It appears that the software behind it does work on Mac OS X, though. Maybe they just need to update the information on their FAQ page.

I would keep the mini and save some cash and with the rebate purchase a new nano; for the mini in time to come say 10 years or more will become an "antique"
Hopefully the Mac mini that I'm interested in will still be running in 10 years. Since I missed out on the Cube, don't want to miss out on the mini.

Check out MacRumors' Buyer's Guide (http://www.macrumors.com/members/buyersguide/)! It tracks updates, refreshes and bumps.
Yeah I had a little look at that before I posted this. The updates listed there are yearly ones, I wondered if anyone knew the frequency of the smaller updates that don't get a big ol' press release.
I'll sift through the individually tagged articles, see what I can find.
Are you a student? If not you don't qualify for this offer anyway.
Yup, student!

OS X has a utility called grab.
I don't believe grab has a built-in studio for editing the images you capture, etc. does it?
I think Snapz or something like that exists for the Mac and sounds like it can do alot of stuff like SnagIt.
SnagIt does rock :)

Thanks. I Mroogled but didn't get that one. Consensus seems that unless using MASSIVE amounts of RAM then booting in 64 bit is pointless.

If you manage the playlists and track, album, artist, etc details in iTunes, they will transfer to each device in the same way.
