It may have something running in the background that prevents the automatic sleeping. Check system prefs, accounts, your account, login items to see if it starts up automatically at login. If it does, select that and click the minus button. You can also check activity monitor to see if there are programs running in the background keeping it awake.

This may have been covered before but does anybody have any cleaning tips for the Macbook Air (Latest Version) i.e. The screen, the keyboard, touchpad and outer unibody casing, I'm just a little hesitant to use any old cleaning products.

You can download them again for free.
You can also backup your whole phone on iTunes and transfer your apps and data to a new iPhone.
I really hate how if you have to reformat your computer Apple doesn't tell you that you've purchased an app before :(
Makes it VERY difficult to get all your apps back without purchasing new ones by mistake...
Ever heard of backup? Well the Mac App Store shows all the downloaded apps, so maybe write to Apple.com/feedback with that suggestion.

A MBA with SandyBridge and 8GB of ram would be a really nice machine
Thing is, SandyBridge comes with slightly worse graphics. Would worse graphics affect music-creating software? I heard Garageband is GPU-intensive. Not so sure about Logic Pro.

If the photos are on the SSD drive, then yes they will launch faster than if on the HDD. Now that said, if they are just average say 2MB JPG photos the difference will not be huge. If it is a very hi-res photo say 10MB JPG the difference will be more noticeable.

I like it. Some privacy advocates don't like it, but I for one am more paranoid about giving out my SSN. If someone wants your print they could get it from the keyboard you type your password/pin in. You can't lose your finger print, or have it stolen (without knowing it's missing right away). These devices are already pretty good at ignoring 'fakes', and I've seen some that have hea sensors to make sure the 'finger' being read is warm enough to be a persons.
Anyways, in my experience with them they are alright. I would like to have one at home that I could use for my passwords at websites and such. Have my password be a random series of characters and have the reader insert it only after verifying my finger. Would work nice. Same for the ATM... no mor lost cards or trying to keep the guy behind me from seeing my PIN...

The fingerprints matched although later 007 peeled off the fake prints from his fingers. Whether this is feasible or not I don't know, but fingerprints alone seems like a pretty risky strategy. If it were a matter of fingerprints only I bet there will be a rash of missing fingers and it wouldn't be hard to heat them to body temperature....

I'm trying to install 10.3 on an old Tangerine G3 333 iMac. I've upgraded the RAM and the OS9 that was already instlalled was running fine. I then swapped out the HD booted off of the 10.3 install CD, erased HD and partitioned it to 7GB/33GB.
So far so good. I start the install and everything seems to be going just fine, but it never ask for the 2nd install CD. It goes through disk optimization and everything while still on the 1st CD. Then it reboots itself, but fails to find the OS on the HD and ends up wanting to install again.
I've done this 4 or 5 times now and can't figure out what is happening. Anyone have any ideas?

Well... it WILL set a precedent and you will see apple going after jailbreakers... And they have MORE muscle than SONY.
Now.. on the other side...
If Geohot wants a donation... Jailbreak 4.3 untethered and you will get a handsome donation from me.
There is supposedly an untethered Jailbreak for 4.3 ready, but they generally wait until the actual release of an OS revision so that Apple doesn't patch whatever hole they're using. Wait to hold your breath until Apple releases the final rev of 4.3.

Its now 9.50 and the queue is forming well infront of the Apple store,touchwood. I have heard rumours abound that white models are limited and iPad stock isn't as many here as the bigger london stores, so if your planning to be a late comer cancelled your meetings, leave work early or just cry off ill, because your going to be waiting in line a long time and your going to be very angry if stock has gone. people started turning up near 6.30am and the line is getting bigger.

With WiFi capability new iPods
So were getting wifi on nanos and classics! That sounds better than the radio feature. Maybe wireless syncing finally?
I don't think this wifi radio will happen on the ipods, your limited to the hotspots coverage, not so on-the-go. More useful for iphones that are always online.
