I had picked up and old Power Mac 6100 a few years ago from a school and have been using it ever since. For about the past year I have been using it to record notes I take on a voice recorder to burn to CD, in fact, aside from the occasional game that is the only use this computer gets.
This computer is running on OS 7.6.1 with 40MB of RAM and a 2GB hard drive. I could get a more detailed list of specifications if needed (I am not very familiar with configuration).
About a week ago I had noticed what appeared to be the PRAM battery's passing (about time too). All sorts of odd behavior had started such as the time change to 1956 and "out of memory" errors in SoundEdit and SoundApp despite the fact that only 25% of the RAM was in use. I bought a new PRAM battery and replaced it. The clock now lasts through a restart, so the battery is working. The odd behavior such as the "out of memory" errors did not end. Sound does not play at all also (except the "play-through" playback from the voice recorder).
I reset the PRAM to no avail. I have tried virtual memory, changing the memory allocation, disabling extensions, etc., but am open to suggestion. I am considering switching the RAM with some spares I have to check if the RAM is failing, but given the coincidental timing with the PRAM battery failure I doubt that is the problem. I also am considering a clean reinstall if that fails.
What would you all suggest? I would really prefer to keep using this computer. Should I just ditch this computer and figure out sound editing on my other computer?

I have OS X server and I'm trying to get Gallery to work on it http://gallery.menalto.com/. To do this, I need to have a database setup for gallery to use.
I can't seem to get the MySQL configured on Server so that Gallery can use it. All I can find to setup/install MySQL is the MySQL Manager, which only has two buttons - install and start/stop.
I can't get phpmyadmin to connect to it because it won't seem to validate the right username/password. I don't even know how to configure the MySQL password, I just figured it was my admin password.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

It's the best practice to use Time Machine and backup your music on an external HDD.
If you're Mac crashes in the future or you get a new Mac when you plug in your iPad it will not auto-sync, but it will warn you that you must erase your iPad before you can sync. You can still fairly easily get your music off of your iPad but you'll have to use a third-party program like Senuti to do it.
Drag and drop music in your iTunes library? You mean to and from your library? I dunno, explain further.

Radeon 5770 or 5870.
Do these require a flash? Unfortunately I have a RAID-10 in my machine and I can't do Bootcamp unless I could put it on a USB drive.

I had that happen to me -- same symptoms -- but the router was within its warranty period and Apple sent me a new one.
It was really annoying - I feel your pain.
But I think it might be time for you to get a new router.

How about considering a case like this (http://www.kittube.com/search?productid=20_228_3966)? The tail could be worked as a stand, is it amazing? i'm currently using the pink one. Really love it!

Yes Flash is pre-installed, you can disable it or get a plugin to use it when needed.
And am I wrong in thinking that if I download the standalone Flash installer, it runs system-wide? Does that mean when I'm using Safari (but not on pages that have Flash content), it still drains more battery? What about if I'm not even using Safariis it then somehow still taking up extra CPU cycles?

Does anyone know where one can find good Mac related bumper stickers? I've found a couple of places...but I was wondering if anyone knew of any place that had a bunch.

That's a big kinda. All it does is call on the FTP built into Finder. Personally, I ftp via the terminal.
Right, but not eveyone likes command line to FTP. It's very visually easy.

YOU'VE GOT THE ULTIMATE BUMBER STICKER IN YOU MAC PACKAGING!!!
When i saw this in London, i fell for it, and mimicked it...
Get the white apple logo sticker that came with your packaging, and stick it onto the fuel (gas) cap.
It looks absolutly ace!
No seriously, it's the future.

that rely isn't a useful guide at all. there are a lot more steps before and after. Not all of the info is even correct.

Yup. It's beyond my comprehension why Apple choose not to match the default with the "out of the box" method of displaying Dock icons.

Just because you can mount something doesn't mean it's bootable.

Hello everyone. I have a 16GB original iPad and ever since 4.3, I have had some issues with lag. Normally when the home button is pressed the iPad instantly goes back to the home screen, now when the button is pressed it takes about 3 seconds and the animation is really laggy. The update to 4.3.1 didn't fix this issue as well. I haven't tried doing a fresh restore of the device yet but that will be my next step. My question is: is it just me experiencing this issue? If not, what have you done to fix this problem?*
Thanks in advance.
