Hi all,
I'm curious to know if you can create a wireless Hotspot using an iPad's 3G connection, to connect a laptop/other wifi device to over wifi?
Cheers.
Here in the States we don't have such an option. Do you have the option? You can always use something like MyWi to enable this feature, again here in the states our carrier AT&T frowns upon doing this, and has sent out letters to some users... At this point one can't be sure if it is do to excessive usage, or they now have a means of detection....

Thank you. I paid 40$ for it, so I don't think I'll sell it anytime soon. It makes a great writing computer, anyways. :)
Another thing the very old PowerBooks are useful for is simple data processing as well (writing reports with data is what I use a G3 for at home (OS 9 ofc - not anything newer - hopefully one day Ill get another old PowerBook - I do miss my old 540...))

Despite the fact that I shouldn't be spending money I don't have, I'd wanted a Mac for a long time, since working with them at Uni and, prior to that, at various workplaces including a stint on Work Experience at Your Sinclair.
Having owned PCs from an almost steam powered 8086 through to the last Dual Core 2 machine I have (and the last PC I may ever own), it was a big move to go back to Mac OS and learn it all over again.
But a refurbished Mac Mini (2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) at 510 was a bargain and I had to have it, especially as it now means I can review Mac App Store games on my website.
The Mac Mini delivery was incredibly quick. Arriving on Tuesday morning after ordering late on Sunday, I barely had time to clean the study ready for the new machine.
Setting up was easy, plug in and go. Mac OSX greated me with a light and sound show. Ok, it was a slightly tinny sound as I hadn't set the sound to come out of the TV.
Moving across iTunes was far harder. Reformatting one 1TB Hard Drive to be used on the Mac then copying across 200GB of data from an NTFS drive to the new one. Some fiddling around later, much hunting for Artwork on albums, one iPhone synced to the new iTunes and I still have to sync my iPod Touch, losing all the game saves in the process. (it's ok, I really want to go through and 3 star EVERY SINGLE Angry Birds level all over again. Grrrr).
Now the learning curve begins.

Try resetting the PRAM (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238) since it holds some (limited) monitor settings.

Self portrait taken (somewhat) recently during my time as a Campus Rep. Not only do I love the company and their products, but I spread the Apple love whenever I can! Minor retouching and compositing, etc...

Thank you guys for the helpful input. I wonder how many times there have been Virtual PC's with Windows software installed on a MBP. Since this MBP is only 6 months old & I can't presently afford the new CS5, I believe that this approach may be my best option -
I'll go ahead & install the (free) Windows XP Mode and the Windows Virtual PC from the Microsoft download site. I tried numerous settings on Photoshop within the Windows7 Professional 64bit that would not work, so I have uninstalled the Adobe CS(1) to insure that a fresh installation will not have any residual changes from the original settings of the CS software.
I'll post if these Virtual PC & XP Mode downloads are a straightforward install and if the Adobe CS runs as it previously has on XP. I have already had to have Win IE allow & not block the downloads (as is usual).

Even if you're on the 200MB plan, that would be a *massive* amount of data for a text-based chat client to use.
If you look at your detailed bill, you should be able to see when data is being used. If you've been heavily using your iPhone since the net went down, that's where I think the extra usage would be coming from.

Thanks for the reply and picture. I was able to remove the sidebar, I am referring to the grey border surrounding your red image. I want the window to be no bigger than the document basically.
To resize to fit the content go to the View menu and select either "Automatically Resize or Actual Size" then click on the Green button.

I'm selling several photo items. I have a near-mint Canon 20d (some brassing on hot shoe, 6k clicks) for $475. I have a mint Tamron 90mm macro for $350, Canon 28-135 IS (brand new) for $350, mint Canon 70-300 IS f4-5.6 for $500. If you want to take advantage of the live.com ebay discount I'd be open to set up an ebay auction for what you want (gotta love taking money from M$).

If I were you I'd make the whole sig a link. Easier for people to click on it if they can click anywhere in the sig ;)
Thanks :)
Since you should be able to access the MarketPlace, you could put it in there as well. Just post the eBay link and possibly some details (e.g. only through eBay with PayPal). I took a look and others were doing the same so I assume it's allowed (didn't see anything in the rules either).
Just a thought if you want more publicity to your auction
Good idea, cheers.

My greatest piece of work is still in the development process. Its a web based appplication (product) I am working on for my company that will hopefully take off in the very near future. I took a screenshot to show off my limited UI design skills, but eventually should have a demo for people to use at some point.
PS. I removed the product name for business reasons.

hmm, when i try to open the image, they show up as an unrecognized format.
where would a n00b like myself learn how to create something like this? i have no problem installing F@H on a Mac, but it's gotta stay hidden and start at when the computer boots.

I have to agree with Cabbit here, if you hope to have successful business with a successful website you need to step away from iWeb. HTML and CSS are relatively simple to pick up and with HTML5 and CSS3 giving you more options then ever before.
To answer your query, you're going to need jQuery to get the results you require. If learning the skills you need isn't an option, then get someone in to create something - chances are if iWeb has met most of your needs to this point then a web designer should be able to create/code something for you in a few days.

Yeah U of A's bookstore will be selling it for $69 on launch night only, 6-7PM Friday night. I'll be going there now instead of the Apple store too lol. They're also offering free tshirts to the first 50 people and say that they will be doing leopard demostrations as well.

I never do when changing channels, they're never substantially different, but yeah, ads are bitch.
It's never a huge difference, but it's noticeable.
I think the biggest problem is music in TV shows. It's always louder than everything else.
