If I were you I'd make the whole sig a link. Easier for people to click on it if they can click anywhere in the sig ;)

Nothing is listed, even though a device is plugged in.
Try another device. repeat system profiler check.
I had a similiar problem with an external hard drive. Would not register, then plugged in an apple mouse to same USB port, it registered.
My solution was a reboot, then the system recognized the external drive.

Apple claims that a PRAM reset will automatically reset the Power Manager. I've always assumed this Power Manager to be the PMU but I've seen problems not solved with a PRAM reset yet solved with a PMU reset.
How is this so?
Any help is greatly appreciated, as ever. :)
For most things a PRAM reset will solve. It resets a lot of the PMU settings but does not reset charge/discharge defaults.

I was too young (according to my parents ) to see the original "Clash of the Titans" tour in 1991, I won't miss this. Even though I have seen all three bands multiple times but I will have to attend this show to see them all at once.
I am super psyched! :D

Since I'm a big fan of hierarchies for some reason, I had always planned to create a Guides hierarchy. However, up until very recently, we only had like 6 guides.
For example, I've created "Networking & Internet Guides" as well as "Fun but Useless Guides". The latter we can use for articles like how to do that slow-mo genie effect, where you killall the Dock, and the window remains mostly functional. A guide, yes, but a useless one. Used to have a few more, but they got axed before I (or someone) got around to re-writing them to avoid copyright issues.
So, here's the general rule we've all been kinda following -- Stick stuff in main categories. If the main category fills up, we'll be able to easily move them all into subcategories.
Like, I'd like to see a nicely organized Software category, but so far, we've only got Apple software - everything else is, thus far, been ignored. Perhaps some of us should create a "non-apple software project" where we slurp in Quicksilver and Menumeters and all the good apps out there. Not *all*, but if you, the author, think a piece of software is worth talking about, then it should be added.

Alright first I thought it was a drive failure but now I know it wasn't. I took the hard drive out of my daughter Macbook Pro mid 2009 and installed the hard drive out of my Macbook Pro mid 2009 both 13 inch. Her computer won't boot to my drive when I know it's working fine. I get the apple and the spinning wheel and that's as far as it goes. After time I will get a circle with a line through it. Any ideas what could be causing this?:mad:

You can use JW Player (http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/) with YouTube videos (http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/jw-player-now/) and make a custom skin.

I was hoping someone could let me know if they have the Frank Sinatra 24x36 Think Different Poster. This is the one where he is standing in a grey suit in front of a mic and a music stand. Thank you for anyone's help!
I would try eBay. I see them every now and then. Anywhere from $89.00 to $200 is what they usually go for. Make sure you get one without any pinholes or lamination, I have seen those too. You want one that has been kept and will ship to you in a storage tube. Good luck!

I don't see how applying them wet eliminates dust. If there's dust on the screen when you apply a wet shield, the dust is still going to be there once the shield dries. I agree it's easier to move the shield around when it's wet but you do have to be careful that it's not too wet or you could damage your phone.

You can tell by the subject line that this is a very "classic" computer. :)
I recently inherited this machine from a co-worker who had it passed down to him, etc. As far as I can tell nobody has attempted to boot it. It is missing the keyboard and mouse but I thought that turning it on would at least give me some sort of error beeps, codes, unhappy face. However, when I flipped the switch all I can hear is the fans, and I believe I also hear the HD but beyond that nothing. No video is displayed (black) and I can't find any other indication of what's wrong.
I realize this is probably a lost cause but I thought I'd post here anyway in hopes that someone has an idea.
Thanks for your help.
I would open the computer up: check to see if it has RAM, Hard Drive, and of course you will need an old Mac OS we are talking pre OS 7 must be on floppy discs. To be honest unless you have an old Mac OS like version 2-4.0 I doubt you will be able to get it running at all.
Cheers

Been using my iPhone 4 to tether to my wifi iPad 2 and I love it! But for some reason unless I go into my settings, turn OFF the "Personal Hotspot" feature and turn it back ON, the iPad won't recognize there's a wifi signal around.
This never happens with my home wifi, or any other wifi for that matter so I'm wondering why this is only an issue with my iPhone 4? It obviously remembers my network, just won't see a wifi signal when the phone is locked and not on the actual screen of the "Personal Hotspot" in the settings.
Anyone else having the same issue or is it just me? It's kind irritating especially when I use it at work. I keep my phone plugged in the back room (20 feet away, max) and when I want to use my iPad to show a customer something on the Internet, I have to go back there and tweak it to get the Internet to work.
Thanks in advance for the replys and for anyone interested I am using AT&T's tethering (not jail broken). Thanks again.
