"why the heck would I want OS X info that is over 6 months old??? I want LEOPARD info!
I don't really understand what you are trying to say, taking it that Leopard is OSX, and WWDC did have Leopard info, but whatever. I just hope there is indeed a Feb 20 conference.

Not sure what's wrong then, especially if you tried to repair the disk through the disk utility and it was fine. That I/O error should have been corrected.
Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge than me will respond here because other than using disk utility via the OS X install dvd to repair the disk, the only other thing I can think of is to reformat the entire disk.

Apple would be crazy to continue to develop AppleWorks when OOorg and StarOffice are out there. I'd suggest that if anything they're working w/Sun on StarOffice for OS X. They will have something ready just in case Microsoft kill the profitable Office v.X just to hurt the Macintosh.
Let's face it, although your average user doesn't have Office, people who are switching over *need* an extensive office suite -- and no, thinkfree and appleworks do *not* suffice.

At first we had to code our own getters and setters. There was no concept of a property in Objective-C 1.0, except by the convention that if a class had a method x and a method setX: then it could have been said to have property x.
Then Apple created Objective-C 2.0 and it introduced the @property and @synthesise directives, as well as the dot notation. And the number of getters and setters we had to write was reduced to near zero. And our getters and setters become correct in the face of concurrency (assuming no nonatomic) which set us up well for the days of multicore CPUs and GCD.
And the people programming in the land of Apple were happy. (Well generally, some have some valid objections to dot notation).
So yeah, it's just syntax. But I'd highly recommend you use it, unless you have strong reasons not to.

Are you fingers are all broken? Most modern Mac keyboards have System Volume keys on kets F10 (mute), F11 (Volume down) & F12 (Volume up). Why not use your fingers?
Plus I use Audio Hijack Pro (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/11067/audio-hijack-pro) to control many system sounds (and record any system sound).
No, my finders aren't broken. When you use the F10,11&12 keys, the volume bar comes up on the screen. I want more resolution (hence a bigger volume bar). So i can listen to music quieter (or have more resolution at quieter levels).
Also, i don't want to change the system sounds, just control each windows volume separately, but this is not the main question.
Thanks anyway.

Newbie: no need for full name and please do not use caps, it just aggravates us. ;)
You have the iTunes Music Store which is my choice: $.99 + tax.
Another choice is Limewire for all the pirates out there who like to steal music.

It's actually way better than I was expecting.
Same here. I was thinking for a .7 megapixel camera the photos would be terrible, but not so much, or perhaps OP is a really talented photographer. :D

Dr. Q, will you write me a prescription for Progenitorivox?
I have pain in my glavin.Just take a multivitamin with 100% of your minimum daily requirement of each of these (http://www.chm.bris.ac.uk/sillymolecules/sillymols.htm) and you should be feeling either well or deceased in no time at all!

As USB is the fastest interface, despite the Gigabit Ethernet port, you are limited to USB 2.0, but it should be more than fast enough to record a stereo track, as PCM Stereo at 16 bit and 48 kHz only has a data rate of 192 KB/s.
Even though USB transfers data in bursts than as a constant stream, USB 2.0 with its maximum burst speeds of approx. 35 MB/s, USB 2.0 will do.

I've added a small convert vBulletin post to MediaWiki link in the template. This appears as a very small "->" link on the bottom left of the post, near the Report Post icon.
It is a simple tool you can use to convert vbulletin markup to wiki markup. Mostly helpful for converting a post with lots of links.
MacRumors.com link (http://www.macrumors.com)
Bold
Italics
Try it out with this post.

How can one be wrong for asking a question:confused:LOL
You cannot currently unlock a current firmware iPhone. That is how. You can't downgrade the firmware to anything lower to use the Sim unlocker.

Cool! Thank you! I think there were actually several variations of that one, too. I tried looking it up in the wayback machine but it didn't have it.

I"m in Knoxville as well and preordered mine so I won't have to camp out. I also made sure to pick up any accessories before today so I wouldn't have to go anywhere near West Town and the Apple Store.

The USB ports were set-up exactly the same in ALL the previous models. This isn't exactly newsworthy.
Yeah, it's surprising that a Mac News site that's been around for a while didn't know this already.

Isn't there a demo to try?
I've never even heard of this game -- isn't it a retro title?

Hey everyone
Firstly sorry for annoying anyone in advance as i'm new to the jailbreak stuff.
I'm trying to JB with redsn0w from JB 4.01 to 4.3.2 and it's asking for the .IPSW file. Where is this file?
I've tried looking in appdata/roaming/apple computer/itunes.......the only folders there are /cookies and /itunes plug-ins.
I'm using windows 7, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jamie

I am currently JB on 4.2.1 and used tiny umbrella on the same day when 4.3 was released. My saved SHSH's show the following for 4.3.
iPad 4.3b2
iPad 4.3b3
iPad 4.3gm
I assume the last line is indicating goldmaster, however, does this mean I can update to 4.3?
Thanks
You can upgrade to 4.3 anytime you want.
Now, you want to Jailbreak 4.3 that is another history, If you are on the iPad you can use Pwnage tool that is currently a tethered jailbreak, if you are on the iPad2, then you cannot currently JB.
If those are the "only" SHSH you are showing, them if you want to go back to your current firmware (4.2.1) you won't be able to, all you can go back to is 4.3 betas and 4.2GM. (base on the SHSHs you said you had)
If you want to be able to Reboot and keep your Jailbrea, you need to wait tight for abit until a untethered JB is release

Shold i but the xtreme or the xpress?
I only will use for download and flie sharing [very rare]
-I want the network to be hidden (so ppl can only find it by mannualy entreing the name and pssword.)
-I want it to work on windows too
-Hard to be hacked
-transmits w/o lag
-password easily changeable
or it's ok with normal routers?
Ethernet btw

well what you should do is Set it up first just with 1000 base/t I think that should be plenty. In almost all cases you don't even use a full 1000 base/t line, as the hard drives are your limitation. So set it up with 1000 base/t then you can take a look at activity monitor and see if your getting close to maxing out a connection.
