Yes! both do support skype but not to video's. iPod touch also doesn't have a mic so more likely you can't have 2-way voice.

The 4th generation iPod touch DOES have front and rear cameras, and an integrated mic. And Skype knows how to use both of them. So for the purposes of Skypeing over WiFi, the iPod touch 4G is just about on par with the iPhone.

If you're using an iPod touch 3rd generation, then there are no cameras, so a video feed, if present, is supported in the incoming direction only. And there is no integrated mic, so you need an external mic or headset to be able to produce an outgoing audio feed.

Skype doesn't officially support iPod touch 2nd generation or lower for video calls at all, either one-way or two-way.

The internet in Denver, Colorado has been horrible this morning. I've used it in three different places and have noticed it in every place I went, including my flat. I have 4 mb internet in my flat.

I've heard that unless the internet infrastructure is improved that around 2014 no one is going to be able to have new websites. Has anyone else heard stuff like this?

Personally, I'd go for an Apple display. It's only once it's sitting on your desk you realise how incredible this thing is. It looks and performs brilliantly, and matches the Power Mac perfectly.

Apple displays all the way - even if they are hooooogely expensive in comparison.

    Cheers,

    andy.

I particularly like the water bit. And how throwing the fairy lights out of focus brought the face into focus.

My router is most definitely running with WEP security, what else could be going wrong? I have never been able to connect, ever since I got the game.

Is your router running in "b" mode? A DS will need a router that accepts the slower b channel wifi.

    Hi all.

I'm pretty new to Illustrator. I've been teaching myself for the past 6 months or so.

    I'm stumped.

Alright. I wan to make a grid of lines, in a perfect square.

So, I start with 1 line, 50mm in length, 0 degrees of rotation. I want 8 lines total, so I copy and paste an identical line. I put that line on top of the original, and use the Move command to move it 2mm vertically.

I repeat that until I have 8, 3pt lines, evenly spaced by 2mm.

Now I want to change the line lengths to make it so the box is as wide as it is tall. I grab the handle to the right, and drag it. It shows that it is 14.03mm in height. I try to make it 14.03, but IT SIMPLY WONT LET ME. I can get to 14.02, but never 14.03.

Is there a way to specify the width of an object that I'm adjusting horizontally?

Also, when I scale the darn thing, make it bigger or smaller, I hold the shift key to keep the aspect ratio, but the lines never end up to line up.

I've attached a photo. Sorry for the wall of text, but I've been stumped for a couple of weeks on this one.

Have you tried Fast User Switching? I can't say 100% if it's available on the server edition, but it would be in System Preferences > Accounts > Login Options.

Ok, I have found the answer to this one now, so here it is as no one seems to know it for Leopard.

First disable firewall or allow all incoming connections.

    Network pane - advanced - TCP/IP
change DHCP to bootp and apply it all.
Connection will be lost. go back in, change it back to DHCP (no IP address will be assigned at this point. Apply.

    Voila

Don't forget to put your firewall back to what it was.

I hope this will be useful for someone.

    regards

    Jonny

    No Gilmour, no soul. :(

I know Gilmour wasn't a founding member, but Pink Floyd is not Pink Floyd without their lead guitarist.

Well guys, that little fear that Apple was going to lose another star player (during the Steve Jobs health scare), should be gone now!

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1367481/Apples-Jonathan-Ive-How-did-British-polytechnic-graduate-design-genius.html

Speculation that Ive would leave Apple to return to the UK is also false, says a former colleague: ‘I’m not sure there is any truth he wants to come back. My last conversations with him were that he was planning to sell his house in the UK.’

Let's enjoy some nice Apple products now.

You can find them, but its hard and they are expensive. Apart from that it is not a good idea to open an new iMac and void the warranty by messing around with the internals.

Good points, thought it might of been a long shot! Just wish I could have an awesome 2GB graphics in a base 999 iMac!

Half-Life 2 should run fine, especially if the settings are turned down a tick. As for Battlefield, I've honestly got no idea. I guess you could YouTube for a video or something? :)

id love to fill it up with 1024 of cl2 memory but money is really tight, it came with 128 and i was able to pawn 384 off a friend and snagged an old 64mb stick from work that we had donated to us. can the b&w run at 133 or is it 100...i thought i read it was 100, if its 133 i think id take the 64mb stick out.

yeah after looking at the motherboard for this it seems soo much different than a pc board..mainly no capacators.

If you dont mind me asking where did you get the 800mhz upgrade card and how much was it. i think thatm ight be my next step after a 7200rpm hard drive (that is actually in a different machine of mine right now)

So apparently Apple has put out a new version of software for the 6th gen nano.

Sweet, it has capabilities for me to manually tell the Nano to shut off.

I tell it to go ahead and update. It gives me an error saying I do not have permissions and links me to a page that doesn't even list that error. I'm using a 2010 MBP 13" base model if that makes any difference (running Snow Leopard).

I update itunes just in case it is that, still same error.

Why won't it update and what can I do to fix that?

I accept with information:Their home-country phones are far more advanced than the iPhone, as far as raw capabilities, however this is a big deal that the protectionistic South Korea is allowing this to happen.

Thanks. I know how to buy online it's just that I get a bit paranoid about buying online when paying with visa card. i prefer buying straight from shop as I find that the safest way IMO.

It's a security-based encryption key challenge, to test the security of 72-bit RC5 keys, to see if it can be cracked. 64-bit RC5 encryption was cracked successfully in 2002. It took them about 5 years to crack that code. They are less than 1% done cracking the 72-bit key, and they have been at it since the RC5-64 challenge ended in 2002 (8 years). About 0.9% through testing all possible keys in the keyspace to see if they match.

It's a distributed computing effort, and you run a client program on your machine, which fetches keys to test, then the cruncher tests each block of keys, and sends the data back to the server. Your stats are logged daily on a stats server, and it's a competitve contest to see who can crack the most keys. Faster machines will crack better, and the more computers you have running the client, the better.

RSA securities (the company that did security for Netscape) was originally hosting the contest with a $10,000 prize to the winner. The prize was to be split between distributed.net, the winner, the winner's team, and a voted charity organization. The winner got $1,000 and his team got $1,000 to split between themselves.

So, in sum, RC5-72 is a key-cracking challenge to test the strength and security of 72-bit key encryption. We all use 128-bit keys now for internet security, which are practically as safe as we can get. At the rate they are cracking RC5-72, it could take as much as 25 more years to finally crack it and find the matching key!!
