I got my approval notice today, and as expected, it is approved as consular process with the Chennai consulate as the class consulate.
I hope I won't have any problems using EAD. Taking the dive now.

Thanks for the responses.
I have the affidavits and the birth certificate with me. The problem is with the misspelled names on those when compared to my passport.
Get Affidavits in which u will specify the document(i.e Birth certificate ) has the parents names misspelt and the correct spelling (i.e as in passport) and plus other details you full name ,DOB and place of birth etc etc.Affidavits are required in case the information on the Birth Certificate is incomplete i.e no name or when there is incorrect information i.e place of birth missplet ,parents name not in expanded format etc etc.

Can I file for the I-485 before july 1st 2007?
I doing my medical exam next week on the 20th, that's the earliest i could get in MA.
However i'm going to do my x-ray tomorrow, because i always test positive after the TB test, but x-ray negative. Does it hurt to do the x-ray earlier that the actual TB test (PPD)? my doctor said it does not hurt and he will accept it. Does any one know if there going to be a problem with that ?

For F1 students, any off campus employment must be related to their area of study and must be authorized by your school's designated official...

However in this case, I don't even think that selling iPhone apps, constitutes employment. Here is an extreme example : What if I wrote an app and put it on the Apple store and specified that all financial proceeds should go to the OP, without me deriving any kind of labor or tangible benefit from him (a donation of sorts) ? Would that be employment ? If that is considered employment and is illegal then I believe that the OP does not have a case.

well the status quo isn't that bad, is it? Gradually, retrogression will reduce. Now that there is no labor sub, there will be roughly a FIFO system. Plus, no increase in H1B should help the future --- as far as retorgression is concerned. another big plus is that current H1B system is intact. This bill would have driven thousands out of H1B status.
So I say: CIR, RUST in PEACE.

IV Folks,on this occassion I would like to quote a famous shloka from Geeta spoken by none other than the supreme personality of God head, the omni present lord Krishna:
"Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana,
Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani"
the gist of which is "keep doing your good deed and do not worry about the results,the lord shall bestow you with what you deserve"
Folks, a lot of GC aspirants (like myself) are some of the best and the brightest people in the world,yet we are struggling in our lives due to this immigration mess created by an immigration system which is downright archaic and discriminatory.
Our only fault is that we are ambitious and we want to succeed in the land of opportunities .We have this almost uncanny optimism to see light at the end of this immigration tunnel that seems to have no end.Yet everday we login to IV and other immigration websites to see if our fate has changed overnight,if the prority numbers became current,if the priority dates moved up by 6 months(and God forbids down by 3 years),if the HR5882 passed or it didn't because the senate decided to take the "horse rights" bill .Yet, we talk about flower campaigns to somehow make our voices heard, to somehow defend ourselves from the media assault launched by people like lou dobbs who constantly equate us with the illegals.We somehow try to do a failed attempt to distinguish our selves from the those guys who jump over from mexico border and work as labourers.We want to shout at the top of our lungs that we are not illegals, we are pefectly legal people who came to this great country of opportunities upon the invitation of US employers,we are doctors,engineers,scientists and phDs who probably pay more social security taxes then average population and who may never get that money back.All we want in return is a way for us and our spouses to work and live a decent life and live out the American dream without being exploited by the employers who is hell bent upon screwing us.This country is greatest in the world but somebody needs to hear the genuine voices coming from this strata of society.I have full faith that this country has the basic values of equality ingrained in system and we need to do our part to make sure those values are upheld when it comes to legal immigrants.
Please keep doing your part and one day we'll see the light at the end of this tunnel.The rights of legal immigrants will certainly one day find preference over the rights of horses.

People who are driven towards entrepreneurship have expertise in one or the other field. However they may be looking for help in fields other than their area of expertise. That is where IV members can help each and build their successful businesses.
For example, some of us may be experts in IT, few in Accounting, few in Marketing, few legal, few finance, etc. And a startup/business needs all these to become successful. That is where we can help each other and grow the businesses. And this is one intention behind starting the IV Entrepreneur yahoo group.

No they are not. because FB2A applies ONLY if primary applicant is green card holder and I-130 is approved for them. Both the conditions must be met BEFORE I-485 is filed.
If you don't agree with me then ask any attorney and post the response here. Hopefully that will make you see the reasoning.

I hope they mail it back because that's something I definitely need. I didn't know they will look at my I797. I wish I had known this before my wife went for visa stamping. There's alway a new kink, isn't it :-)
My wife had her visa stamped in Bombay consulate - and during the interview they asked to see the I797 - but i had instructed her to ask for it back and she specifically asked the officer if she could have it back because I needed it - and he promptly gave it.
maybe Delhi Consulate works differently. Hopefully they will mail you back the 797 notice with the passport.

Asked for Medicals, Tax returns(Last 3 years), birth Certificate, and Affidavit of Support I834(mine is not Family based GC) why did they ask me. Is there anyone else in the same situation
I am the primary Applicant, PD Jul 2003, EB3
There are no visa numbers available for this category. Why Interview call..
Even if they selected my application randomly there are no visa numbers available..

This is my first post here but I am silent reader for past two years. I got my GC approved couple of weeks ago. A week before that, I applied for EAD and AP renewal. Is there any way to ask USCIS to refund the money back since they have debited the money from my account and also received the receipt notice for me and my wife as well? I need your valuable suggestion here,

i never filed EAD before but i filed 131 by myself 2 weeks back. its pretty straight forward and i even got receipt notice. make sure you attach all the required proofs along with new fees. thats it.

I think this is a good idea. Most people here, coming from a computerized world, assume that everything in USCIS is automated. Its only partly true. Due to security reasons, preventing vulnerability, they still deal with mostly paper.
