I do not think its a right approach to go to police for this mistake in the report as this is not a primary law and order problem, assumining that its a mistake in the report.
if you have been rejected for a job position based on a background screening report your employer must inform you about this and provide you with a full copy of the report. Generally they will send it in mail to your mailing address...
If you find a mistake in the report, which has led to this situation, you must dispute the wrong information in the screening report at once and get in touch with the company that conducted the check.
Tell them about the wrong information they have provided in the report and demand an immediate re-investigation, both by sending a letter and asking them over the phone as well.
Under Federal regulations an employer is prevented for five days from hiring another person in your place from the date when you dispute the wrong information in the report. So, do not loose hope, you may still get the same job provided the mistake is corrected in the report with in 5 days.

"Taking a chance" would obviously depend on the alternative opinion - surely. If the independant lawyer says no way you must start again, it wouldn't be taking a chance, it would just be stupid.

there was no mention of 'ADIT' or 'Card ordered' in my email.

My friend has 2 I-140s one EB3 (PD Dec 2002) and second one EB2 (PD Nov 2006) - what is the best option for him.
Whether he can use earlier PD for EB2 (I-485).
Please share your knowledge.

This is confusing. What is the source of this post?
1). It says there can be another 485 that can be filed for the new EB2 labor. Looks like a safer option.
2). It also says the dates have to be current to interfile. Needs lot of clarification to this post.
This is what I found in another thread:

• This posting involves aliens who are waiting for the I-485 applications where the underlying I-140 petition was approved but due to retrogression, I-485 cannot be approved. Most of these cases are EB-3 cases. When the same alien obtains an EB-2 labor certification approval through the same employer or a different employer and the visa number is available for the EB-2 for him or her, he should be eligible for filing another I-485 application based on the visa number available EB-2 I-140 petition. This can be achieved either by concurrent I-140/I-485 filing or if the new EB-2 I-140 has already been approved, by filing of stand-alone I-485 application.

My LC is languishing in Philly backlog center. Not sure if I beleive that they will have it completed by Sep 2007. In any case, I am blessed enough to be able to switch to a part time status at work. I am enrolling in a part time graduate program. My question is - will going part time at work hurt me with LC or even later with 140, 485, or maybe even green card interview?? Thanks.

Well.. Everybody stopped talking about EB2. It is predicted that EB2 will be unavailable till Oct 2008 and after that nobody knows how EB2 dates are going to move.
As for EB3, there could be a small movement of 2 to 3 months, I do not think there will be any more movement than that.

well, he is talking only about the backlog processing centers...so..there are no i-140s backlogged in the BPC because.......there are hundreds of thousands of labor certifications that need to be cleared first..only after which they can apply for i-140! Like I said, he is focusing on the positive, which is a good thing..Someone else (erroneously) said that the department of labor and the backlog processing centers are 2 different entitities..however, I'd like to point out that, the job of clearing the labor certs has been transferred over from the state workforce agencies to the backlog processing centers..so, ignoring that, and saying there is no i-140 backlog is just focusing on the good news..

Say I got my GC approved and then I call USCIS and withdraw my pending EAD/AP application. Will I get a refund for pending EAD/AP application, if I get my GC approved before EAD/AP approval?

So i had this idea for doing long daylight exposures; I bought two linear polarizers and stacked them on my 20-35mm. When you cross the polarizers, it will almost completely black out the lens. Now I can do a shot like the one below, 20s exposure, 35mm, ISO 50, f/22. This technique gave me the fog effect from tidepool waves that I was looking for, but there have to be more applications of long exposure/bright light photography that I haven't thought of yet. Any suggestions on what else I can use this for?
